Purpurite Tower

$40.00Price

Purpurite is known as a stone of spiritual awakening, intuition, and personal freedom. Practitioners value it for activating the third eye and crown chakras, boosting cognitive focus, and helping individuals break free from old habits or fear-based thought patterns. It primarily resonates with the Crown and Third Eye chakras, aligns with the Air and Ether (Spirit) elements, and is commonly linked to Virgo, Sagittarius, Scorpio, and Aquarius.

Because purpurite is a relatively soft manganese phosphate mineral (measuring only 4 to 4.5 on the Mohs hardness scale), it requires gentle handling. It is also prone to shedding a fine, powdery purple residue.

Cleaning your purpurite requires a careful balance of physical maintenance and energetic cleansing:

1. Physical Cleaning (Removing Dirt and Dust)

  • The Safest Method: Wipe the stone gently with a dry, soft, microfiber cloth. Because it scratches easily and can degrade, a dry wipe is best for raw or crumbly pieces.

  • If Using Water: You can subject stable, tumbled pieces to a brief rinse under lukewarm water using mild soap and a very soft toothbrush.

  • What to Avoid:

    • No long soaks: Prolonged exposure to water can cause the iron and manganese content to oxidize, making the stone lose its luster or fade.

    • No harsh chemicals or acids: Purpurite reacts strongly to acids. Avoid hydrochloric acid or chemical cleaners unless you are an experienced lapidary artist using it to strip weathering layers.

    • No ultrasonic or steam cleaners: These can shatter or degrade the stone.

2. Energetic Cleansing & Charging (Resetting its Metaphysical Vibration)

Since purpurite shouldn't sit in water or salt baths, use these safe, alternative methods to clear out stagnant energy:

  • Smoke Smudging: Pass the crystal through the smoke of sacred herbs like sage, palo santo, or cedar.

  • Moonlight: Place your purpurite under the light of a full moon overnight to clear and recharge its spiritual properties. Avoid strong, direct sunlight for extended periods, as it can cause the vibrant purple color to fade.

  • Sound Therapy: Use a singing bowl, tuning fork, or chimes, letting the sound vibrations pass through the stone.

  • Selenite or Quartz Plates: Rest your purpurite on a selenite charging plate or next to a Clear Quartz cluster overnight.
